Born Joelsepher Rockelstein, this midwestern warlock of song has been spinning melodic yarns for a quarter of a century.

Over a fifteen year run, Joel self-produced eight full length, home recorded collections of original compositions as well as various EPs, and collections of covers and homeless songs. He even collaborated with his young daughter to tell the musical story of a baby bat who loses its wings.

In 2020, Joel became the resident song writer and musical director for The Table Episcopal Church in Indianapolis, Indiana. After receiving a Masters in Theological Studies he began writing songs that provocatively explore and meditate on the ancient texts of the Psalter.

In the early 2000's Joel fronted the bands Six Points Crossing, and Flying J & The Pilots. He has opened for artists such as Gil Landry, and Pearl & The Beard. Opening for Liturgical Folk in 2023 he introduced his current band, Good Lord, Rose! who have quickly become Indy's darlings of folk-adjacent rock.

He resides in Greenwood, Indiana.
